Stuart Shepherd is Head of Music at Broughton High School in Preston and hails from Manchester. With nearly two decades of experience, he specialises in composition and music technology. A trumpet player and active composer, Stuart has written music for advertising campaigns and performed on soundtracks for major computer games released on PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
He also delivers training on technology in the classroom for higher education institutions, including Manchester Metropolitan University, Liverpool John Moores University, and the University of Cumbria. In addition, Stuart has experience in music broadcasting, having presented a weekly House Music show aired on FM and DAB across Bolton and the North West.
Before entering teaching, Stuart worked as a Software Applications Technician with Apple, Intel, and IBM. His blend of musical, technical, and industry experience underpins his practical approach to digital music making. His preferred DAW is Cubase, though he uses GarageBand and Sibelius in school to support accessibility for all learners.
